Nutrition in Strength training

A Short History Of The Universal Gym

The original universal gym was invented by Harold Zinkin as he started his company, actually called Universal Gym Equipment, in 1957 and was available in mass production in 1963.  Harold was a body builder and held the title of "Mr California" in 1941 and was the runner-up for "Mr America" in 1945.  He wanted to open up the sport to more of the novice market and knew that free weights had alot of limitation associated with them including injury, cost, time between exercises, etc.

So, he invented a centralized fitness station that utilized weight plates and weight stations to allow for users to quickly change weight levels, to transition quickly between exercises, to help users focus in on specific muscle groups and to decrease injury.  The invention was highly unique at the time and quickly became a standard in gyms and fitness clubs across the country.  The new universal gym allowed for novice body builders and fitness-focused individuals to do strength training with less risk, less training and less time.

60 Minutes Of Exercise A Week Can Change Everything

When you think you can't find time to exercise, you are right, you can't find time.  You can only make time.  We all generally deal with the same issues when it comes to getting in workouts and exercise.  We simply can't find the time and most days, if not every day, we let the day move forward without finding the time for us and our health maintenance.

The solution is simple though...we have to make time for exercise.  Behavioralists, personal trainers and life coaches all agree.  Unless you make the time it won't become a priority and it won't become a habit.  Studies vary between 21 days and 35 days to build and set a habit.  In either instance though this is simply 3 to 5 weeks of time for creating something that will be one of the most positive changes in your life ever.

You may think that 5 weeks is a lifetime of workouts.  Well, it may seem like that if you begin by working out like you did in high school for 90 minutes per day.  However, for most of us to get into better shape, to build metabolism, to lose weight and to gain energy we only need to start with 15 minutes of exercise a day.
